UPDATE #2: RSVP list is now closed. Event is also full....so if you RSVP'd but have not yet paid, you'll need to wait until our cooking class in March.
UPDATE #1: To be fair to those who want to join in and are ready to make payment, I'll be unrsvp'ing those that haven't paid. So make payment to *truly* lock in your spot... and since we're approaching full capacity, for any new rsvp's, please make payment immediately.
We've been off for a few months but it's time to ring in 2009! And we have a fun class planned with this one. Join us at Odeon Cafe in Dupont Circle for a 3-hr demonstration class on Italian Cooking. Learn the intricacies in the preparation of fine italian cuisine, and how to cook a world class dish using basic ingredients and simple techniques.
Our chefs/instructors will be owner Jamal Bouzod and his partner Ben. We will have 4 "rounds" of cooking, where each round demonstrates the preparation and cooking of a different dish. At the end of each round, you get to eat the dish you just learned to make! Plus, we will be serving red and white wine to go with each of the dishes. Yes, the ticket price does include an ample supply of wine!
Further, each person who attends will receive a $25 gift certificate to Odeon Cafe!
Please know this is a DEMONSTRATION cooking class, rather than a "hands-on" class (which is much more expensive). You'll be provided with handouts detailing the preparation of the dishes Jamal will be cooking.
Our menu will be:
-Spaghetti Bolognese (Spaghetti in a rich meaty tomato sauce)
-Tilapia Florentine (Tilapia cooked with spinach, tomatoes and lemon butter)
-Bruschetta Pomodoro (tomato) and Bruschetta Scampi (Baby shrimp and cannelloni beans)
-Tiramisu (the Italian "pick me up" dessert)
-*wine pairings*
We have a LIMITED number of spots so make sure to RSVP early! See you there!
Oh, and the closest metro stop is Dupont Circle on the Red Line.
