Learn to Make Sushi!

UPDATE #3: There are still 6 spots left, so you may claim a spot by arriving early with exact cash. Also, there are usually 5 no-shows for this event, so you just might be able to join us. Make sure to come early with exact cash.

UPDATE #2: The early-bird price has now ended and the ticket price is now $50. Looking forward to seeing you there!

UPDATE #1: There are less than 10 early bird spots left and the price will increase from $40 to $50 before Saturday, February 4th. To be fair to those who want to join in and are ready to make payment, I'll be removing those that haven't paid by Wednesday, February 1st. So make payment to *truly* lock in your spot.

Ok, let's eat... and learn how to make sushi!

We have a fun class planned with this one! Come join us at Cafe Asia for a 2 hour demonstration on on to make sushi. Learn the intricacies in the preparation of sushi using varied ingredients and simple techniques.

Not only that:

  • We will have 4 "rounds" of demonstrations, where each round demonstrates the preparation and creating of each type of roll
  • We'll each get to enjoy and eat ALL the dishes we just learned and demonstrated to us!
  • We'll each receive copies of the recipes, detailing the preparation of the dishes demonstrated to us
  • Red and white wine IS included with the demonstration!

MENU

  • Sushi rice
  • California Roll
  • Spicy Tuna Roll
  • Avocado Roll
  • Chef's Choice!

(The chef reserves the right to make changes to the menu)

We've got an early bird special for this event of $40! The first 25 paid sign-ups, or those who pay before Saturday, February 5th (whichever comes first) get the early bird price! After that, the ticket price will go to $50. We have a LIMITED number of spots so make sure to RSVP early and make payment to get the early bird price!

Also please know that your RSVP is not guaranteed unless we receive payment. When you pay, your online receipt is confirmation that we have received your payment.

Come join us, tell a friend, and let's learn, eat, and enjoy sushi together! =)

Hope to see you there!

- J.T.

P.S.  Please know this is a DEMONSTRATION cooking class, rather than a "hands-on" class (which is much more expensive).

Metro

Closest Metro is Farragut West (Orange/Blue Lines), I suggest metro / cabbing it. I also recommend using wmata for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro and traffic delays.

Refund Policy

Since we paid in advance for this event, all sales are final unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled. It was fun learning about how to make sushi... but the practicing how to eat it was my favorite part :-) !!!

It was an interesting class, and the instructor was very thorough and humorous. I would've been more interested in more advanced topics, but it was fun being in that class, and getting to eat a lot of sushi at the end.

Demonstration was great. The sushi chef kept things fun and light, and repeatedly showed good form for making the various rolls. Plus, everyone got a ton of food afterward. Only thing that would have made it better, is if we got to make the rolls ourselves, but this was definately worth the price of admission.
